Dena Jersild DVM

Dr. Dena Jersild received her Bachelor of Science degree in 1984 from the University of Wisconsin – River Falls. She then attended the University of Wisconsin – School of Veterinary Medicine and graduated in 1989.  After practicing for two years in equine and small animal medicine, she focused her attention solely on small animal medicine and surgery. Her passions and interests led her into the study of Veterinary Spinal Manipulation, which allowed her to attend the program being offered by Options for Animals, located in Illinois.

Beginning in July of 2001, Dr. Jersild began the study of Applied Kinesiology (AK) in Animal Spinal Manipulation care.  She has completed all the courses available within this modality including its application with allergy diagnosis and treatment for animals.  Further study in AK, as well as various other alternative modalities has been obtained over the years (certification not obtained).

In November 2002, Dr. Jersild joined the faculty at the Healing Oasis Wellness Center VSMT program, located in Wisconsin. Here she provides instruction on cranial nerve anatomy and function, and a comprehensive neurological examination.  She also assists in instructing Veterinarians and Chiropractors on the technique and theory of Veterinary Spinal Manipulation.

Dr. Jersild currently maintains a busy small animal practice in Minneapolis, Minnesota which opened in March 2000.  She is the sole-owner, practice manager and a full-time Veterinarian. Her clinic provides traditional and alternative Veterinary Medicine with two associate Veterinarians and eight other employees.

Other venues include lecturing at local canine organizational meetings or events, providing demonstrations of Chiropractic medicine, writing articles for various local magazines or papers, and providing interviews for television and periodicals. Dr. Jersild mentors students on a regular basis; those interested in Veterinary Medicine, as Doctors or Technicians. She aspires to expose as many people as possible within the profession to the far-reaching potential and benefits of Spinal Manipulation and Integrative Medicine.  She hopes to gain experience in other related teaching venues and hopes to pursue certification in other specific modalities of medicine to enhance her methods of practice.
